Christo - The Reichstag and Urban Projects

From Library Journal
The decision to move the German parliament to the Reichstag in Berlin by the end of the century makes this exhibition catalog most intriguing. The artist Christo has devoted over 20 years to developing his Reichstag Project, wherein the future (and former) home of parliament will become another of his notorious wrapped structures. Part 1 includes a chronology of his project plans, as well as a series of 26 collages and drawings on "wrapped Reichstag" executed by the artist since 1978. Part 2 contains a series of 73 stunning photographs, collages, and drawings of his ten major urban projects completed between 1962 and 1985. The catalog concludes with a brief biographical chronology of Christo and a description of selected wrapped objects, packages, and projects from 1958 to the present. This catalog adds to his controversial legacy. Highly recommended.
