dOCUMENTA 13 - THE BOOK OF BOOKS

dOCUMENTA 13

Complete list of participants from A-Z, with biographies and information about the artists and their works

| All 100 Notebooks from the dOCUMENTA (13), plus programmatic essays

| Comprehensive indices of key words and subjects

This volume is the book of all books: the catalog brings together essays, artists’ projects, and a garland of dOCUMENTA (13)’s core themes. It reproduces the publication series 100 Notes – 100 Thoughts as facsimiles or in new layouts, and contains contributions by Artistic Director Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev and Chus Martínez, Head of Department and Member of Core Agent Group.

Contributing authors of the notebooks range from anthropologist Michael Taussig and philosophers Donna Haraway and Christoph Menke, to feminist cultural theorist Griselda Pollock and political philosopher Susan Buck-Morss, to poet Romaine Moreton and scientist Anton Zeilinger, and include above all various artists. The illustrated short biographies of all participants, combined with the exhibited artworks, offer a holistic overview of dOCUMENTA (13). An extensive reading list and a substantial index allow navigation through the book and an in-depth study of topics in different disciplines in relation to the exhibition. This lavishly illustrated volume provides insight into the concept of dOCUMENTA (13), with its various branches in different fields of radical researching and experimental thinking, and serves simultaneously as a useful reference.

Edited by documenta und Museum Fridericianum Veranstaltungs-GmbH, texts by Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev, Ayreen Anastas, Franco Berardi, Iwona Blazwick, Rene Gabri, Dario Gamboni, Pierre Huyghe, Marta Kuzma, Raimundas Malasauskas, Chus Martínez, Kitty Scott, Andrea Viliani u.a., graphic design by Leftloft
