Richard Serra - Prints Catalogue Raisonné

RICHARD SERRA (1939-2024)
Richard Serra has engaged in an intensive discussion of printing and its potential since the early stages of his work as an artist. What he seeks to achieve is not the mere duplication of a piece of paper, but the continuous extension and radical further development of the possibilities of expression through printing and a discussion of the options offered by the various techniques as well as the qualities of the materials he uses. In an age of increasing technical reproducibility, Richard Serra unwaveringly creates prints that do not convey or indeed reinforce any kind of certainty but which focus on and question the credibility of experiences and their own self-assurance.
The Catalogue of Works contains the prints created until the end of 1999 – each listed with a small-format illustration.
