VELÁZQUEZ. PAINTER OF PAINTERS. BIND I-II / Catalogue Raisonné

VELÁZQUEZ (1599-1660)

PRAGTVÆRK I TO BIND

Vélasquez, Painter of Painters has a dual purpose: to propose an interpretation of the Spanish painter as a creative personality and historical figure, and to establish a catalogue raisonné of his work. These goals were attained by José López-Rey, who retraces the life of VELÁZQUEZ in a thorough analysis preceding the catalogue of 129 paintings, all of which are reproduced and accompanied by a detailed description. In 1999, this work was revised and re-edited by Éditions Taschen in a trilingual, color version. Wildenstein Institute
