TOMÁS SARACENO. 14 BILLIONS

TOMÁS SARACENO ( 1973- )

Tomás Saraceno is both an architect and artist. His works are high-flying, speculative, poetic propositions for new ways of living. They comprise concepts of how art may build dreams for the future. He has the courage to let art propose new utopias in harmony with architecture and science. This publication showcases 200 images of Tomás Saraceno's works, among them the 400 cubic meter installation of a Black Widow's spider web that he developed in collaboration with spider researchers and astrophysicists, and that was exhibited at Bonniers Konsthall in 2010. The installation is a development of the work that the artist presented at the 53rd Venice Biennale in 2009: Galaxy Forming along Filaments, like Droplets along the Strands of a Spider's Web
