Howard Hodgkin - the complete prints

This is the definitive celebration of the most popular area of Howard Hodgkin’s work.
Howard Hodgkin’s prints form an extraordinary body of work, a parallel and very different achievement from his paintings. They have been internationally celebrated and passionately collected, but never brought together.
As a painter, Hodgkin has mostly preferred to create small works using oils and working on wood. As a printmaker, he has challenged the format, techniques and expressive potential of the medium, making over 140 works on paper.
An interview with Hodgkin sheds light on the genesis of the prints and investigates his conviction that printmaking is an independent process.
With over eighty colour plates and a fully illustrated catalogue raisonné, plus a chronology, an extensive bibliography and a list of solo and group exhibitions, this first ever comprehensive survey and catalogue raisonné, was compiled by Liesbeth Heenk and includes a major essay by Nan Rosenthal.
